EPISODE 252: Joan Bernal Part 2

On December 9, 1988, Joan Bernal and her family were preparing to leave their home in Joliet, Illinois, and head to Texas to visit her husband's family for the holidays. Things didn't go as planned, and they were only able to bring one of their children. According to Joan's husband Gil, he dropped Joan off near a McAlester, Oklahoma bus stop, and gave her some cash to get back to Illinois. Joan Bernal has never been seen or heard from again. 

In this second installment, we will look at Gil's history and hear his version of events. We will also go over statements given to the police when Joan first went missing to get a better idea of what happened to Joan Bernal.

EPISODE 251: Joan Bernal Part 1

According to Joan's husband Gil, they decided to make the trip anyway, and Joan got upset along the way. Gil stated that he dropped her off near a McAlester, Oklahoma bus stop, and gave her some cash to get back to Illinois. The plan was that Joan would pick up her other children and fly down to Texas. Joan Bernal has never been seen or heard from again. This case is full of different stories of what happened to Joan, whether she may still be alive, and questions surrounding her disappearance.

EPISODE 250: Viola Findley

Viola Findley, a 28-year-old mother of 3, was visiting family in Florida in September of 1983. After her visit, it is believed and assumed that she was making her way back home to her children in Waterloo, Iowa. However, Viola never made it home. The point in which Viola went missing is a mystery. Proper steps were not taken when Viola went missing, and the family has been hard-pressed to get answers. There has never been a proper search, and documentation of certain events in Viola's life has been lost due to natural disasters. Those who would have memories that could lead authorities in the right direction have either left this world or simply can't clearly recall the events.
